This HTML document creates a complete YouTube Thumbnail Extractor tool that allows users to:

1. Extract thumbnails from any YouTube video

2. Choose from different quality options

2. Thumbnail Extraction

• Supports multiple YouTube URL formats:

  • Regular watch URLs (youtube.com/watch?v=…)

  • Short URLs (youtu.be/…)

  • Embed URLs (youtube.com/embed/…)

• Automatic video ID extraction from URLs

3. Quality Options

• Four thumbnail quality levels:

  • Highest (maxresdefault.jpg – 1280×720 or higher)

  • High (hqdefault.jpg – 480×360)

  • Medium (mqdefault.jpg – 320×180)

  • Standard (sddefault.jpg – 640×480)

• Automatic fallback to lower quality if highest isn’t available

4. Download Functionality

• One-click download of displayed thumbnails

• Automatic filename generation (youtube-thumbnail-[VIDEO_ID]-[QUALITY].jpg)

• Proper blob download handling for cross-browser compatibility

5. Download History

• Stores up to 20 most recent downloads

• Shows thumbnail preview, filename, and download date

• Allows re-downloading from history

• Option to clear entire history

• Persists between sessions using local Storage

• After downloading you can use our PNG to JPG Convertor to convert downloaded image to PNG format.

6. Error Handling

• Validates YouTube URLs

• Detects when thumbnails aren’t available

• Shows user-friendly error messages

How to Use

1. Enter YouTube URL:

   • Paste any YouTube video URL into the input field

   • Example formats:

     • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ

     • https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ

     • https://www.youtube.com/embed/dQw4w9WgXcQ

2. Select Quality (optional):

   • Choose your preferred thumbnail quality (default is Highest)

3. Extract Thumbnail:

   • Click the “Extract Thumbnail” button

   • The tool will display the thumbnail if available

4. Download Thumbnail:

   • Click “Download Thumbnail” to save the image to your device

   • The download will automatically appear in your history

5. Manage History:

   • View past downloads with preview images

   • Click the download (↓) button to re-download any item

   • Use “Clear History” to remove all history entries

Technical Notes

• Works entirely client-side (no server required)

• Uses YouTube’s thumbnail URL pattern: img.youtube.com/vi/[VIDEO_ID]/[QUALITY]default.jpg

• Stores history in browser’s local Storage

• Responsive design adapts to different screen sizes
